NYU Students, Lindsay Borocz (L) and Adriana Berardi with SEND A SOLDIER A SMILE New York City College of Technology dental hygiene and veteran students are all smiles again over the College’s response to their second annual on-campus effort to raise money toward the purchase of basic dental hygiene supplies for U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The program began when a patient in the Dental Hygiene Clinic at City Tech mentioned that oral hygiene supplies were difficult and costly to get on military bases in Iraq. Dental hygiene students affilitated with veteran students and last year conducted two very successful fundraisers. With the proceeds, they sent thousands of dollars worth of oral hygiene supplies to military bases in Iraq and Afghanistan. This year, they hope to be able to send even more supplies.
